Teenage foster youth are on social media like other teens, but, unfortunately, they are at even higher risk than other youth for many social media-related dangers including:
- Cyberbullying
- Violence
- Hate speech
- Human trafficking
Partnering With Child Welfare Agencies
The Organization for Social Media Safety will work with your Child Welfare Agency to:
- Provide instruction for foster youth, foster parents, and social workers on essential social media safety skills
- Compile a data snapshot of how social media-related dangers are impacting foster youth in your area
- Consult on policies to enhance social media safety for foster youth
